Audit B2B Site Search Around Saudi Buyers’ Questions

Audit internal site search by checking whether visitors can reach a relevant, accurate answer from the terms they actually use. Search counts alone cannot tell you whether the experience works. For a Saudi B2B website, review the Arabic and English journeys separately before deciding whether to change content, navigation or the search configuration.

Establish what the measurement captures

Google Analytics’ enhanced-measurement documentation describes the view_search_results event and search_term parameter for supported URL query patterns. Check how your website presents results before assuming the standard setting captures it. A search interface that does not expose the expected URL pattern needs an implementation review.

Verify the event against a completed search in the actual site. Check duplicate events, missing terms and whether results refresh without a page load. Do not assume a search event records result quality, zero results or a useful click; define those separately if the business needs them. Google also requires avoiding personally identifiable information in this collection. Review what people can enter before enabling it.

Build a task-based review list

Use an appropriately cleaned set of actual searches alongside documented questions received by sales. Keep the original wording in a restricted working record when appropriate, and create a normalized review label. Do not merge terms merely because they look similar: a service request, a support request and a company-information request can need different destinations.

Record language, intended task, expected answer, actual first useful result and the action available on that page. Include unsuccessful and ambiguous searches. Mark intent as uncertain when the phrase does not provide enough evidence. Search logs describe submitted terms, not the visitor’s identity or a complete explanation of their motivation.

Inspect Arabic retrieval, not only presentation

Test observed spelling variants and the terminology your buyers use, while preserving distinctions that matter to the service. Review whether an Arabic query returns an understandable Arabic destination and whether switching language preserves the relevant page. An English result may be usable for some readers, but it should not silently replace a missing Arabic answer.

Check result titles and snippets on mobile. They should explain what the page answers without forcing visitors to open several indistinguishable results. Inspect keyboard operation, visible focus and the empty-results message. Give the visitor a real next step, such as a relevant service category or contact route, without claiming that an unavailable service exists.

Assign the correct kind of repair

Separate missing content from weak retrieval. If an accurate answer already exists but is difficult to find, investigate indexing rules, result labels and navigation. If the business has no approved answer, route the question to the service owner before commissioning new copy. Do not create a page for every query variant.

Prioritize repairs using the importance of the buyer task, observed recurrence and the consequence of failure. Keep those judgments separate from external keyword demand. Internal search evidence can reveal friction among existing visitors; it does not measure how many people search for the term across Saudi Arabia.

Retest the same tasks after release

Keep a compact acceptance record containing the query, expected destination, observed result and reviewer decision. Repeat the same checks after changes, including cases that previously worked. Monitor successful next actions and remaining unresolved tasks where measurement supports them. Avoid declaring a conversion lift from a before-and-after search count alone.
