A Saudi Performance Reels Brief Built Around One Buyer Problem

Brief a short marketing video through one problem, a specific hook, an honest demonstration, and a next step your sales team can actually support.

  • What should a performance Reel demonstrate to support a customer decision?
  • How can a clear brief connect the script, proof, approvals and measurement?

Approve the decision before the script

A short video brief should make one production decision easy: what must the viewer understand and do after watching? For a Saudi business, that decision needs to connect the advertised problem with an actual buying path. A polished video is not useful if it invites a demonstration nobody can schedule or promises an offer the sales team cannot confirm.

Write a single sentence naming the audience, problem, visible evidence, and next action. Keep other product benefits in a separate backlog. This is an editorial framework, not a claim about how a platform ranks or distributes Reels.

Build the brief in four blocks

Problem: Describe a recognizable situation, not a broad aspiration such as improving efficiency. Specify who experiences it, when it occurs, and what makes it inconvenient. Confirm that sales or customer-facing colleagues recognize the wording.

Hook: Open with the problem or the observable outcome of solving it. The opening should accurately preview the demonstration. Avoid exaggerated warnings, unsupported comparisons, and a curiosity gap that the video never closes.

Demonstration: Show a real action that supports the message. State what is live, staged, accelerated, or illustrative. Use approved test data when a screen could expose customer information. Do not imply an integration, capability, or result that the product cannot substantiate.

CTA: Ask for one next step suited to the viewer's readiness. Requesting a workflow review is different from asking for an immediate purchase. Name the destination and confirm that its form, messaging route, or booking process matches the promise.

Include approved Arabic terminology, any English interface labels, pronunciation notes, and the person who signs off on product accuracy. These details are especially useful when production, marketing, and sales operate in different languages.

Complete a blank demonstration brief

Leave fields for the verified buyer question, approved capability, opening statement, demonstration sequence, required conditions, closing action and destination. Populate them from product documentation and real audience questions. Confirm what the demonstration can show before approving a claim for the opening.

Map each shot to evidence of the same capability. Record any prerequisite, waiting period or setup that editing could obscure. Use approved test data where a demonstration requires it, with appropriate restrictions on personal or confidential information. Do not infer time savings or universal suitability from a short visible sequence.

Check that the CTA asks for an action the receiving team can fulfil and that the destination retains the same promise. Review the Arabic wording alongside the final cut, including captions and conditions. Keep a named approver for unresolved claims and a repeatable release check. The brief should let production execute a truthful demonstration without prewriting a fictional business result or inventing a buyer's circumstances.

Plan review and measurement together

Assign one owner for product claims, one for Arabic copy, and one for the destination experience. Review the storyboard before filming and the finished cut before release. Check captions against the final voice track; W3C guidance on captions describes synchronized text for speech and meaningful non-speech audio.

Choose a primary business outcome, such as qualified demonstration requests, and a secondary diagnostic, such as destination visits. Report video engagement separately from sales quality. If comparing openings, keep the offer, audience definition, destination, and observation period comparable; otherwise the difference cannot be attributed cleanly to the opening.

What to remove from the brief

Remove competing problems, a feature tour disguised as a demonstration, and multiple CTAs fighting for attention. Do not promise reach, virality, or an algorithmic preference for a particular editing pattern. A clear creative hypothesis is enough.
